Medical Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator

Plessen Healthcare

Duration: 1 Year

The Medical Assistant/Patient Care Coordinator coordinates reception area activities to promote communication throughout the facility. They perform clerical and reception duties; clinical duties and coordination of patient care activities; maintain the facility medical records according to established guidelines and requirement; review records for compliance with approved policies; transcribe and maintain medical staff dictation and other duties according to facility policy, submitting transcriptions to the medical facility in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications

Apprenticeship applicants must be at least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and physically able to do the work of the job with or without accommodations. Specialist experience required.

Surgical Technician

Duration: 1 – 2 years

Description

The Surgical Technologist creates an environment for the delivery of safe patient care and assists others in developing their skills and knowledge necessary to carry out delegated tasks associated with the safe and efficient operating room support functions and related procedures. Records data established by policy and procedure and reports observations and patient problems to the licensed nurse. Assist surgeons and other medical professionals in hospital operating rooms and similar environments. Prepare patients, rooms, and equipment for pending surgical procedures. Assist during those procedures as part of a team of operating room professionals.

Life Safety Coordinator

Duration: 1 – 2 Years

Description

The Life Safety Coordinator is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities to ensure effective oversight of the physical environment to promote safety of patients, staff and visitors and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements. Key components of the physical environment program for ongoing supervision include:

  • Fire Safety
  • Hazardous Material and Waste
  • Medical and first Aid
  • Infection Control plan
  • Medical equipment management
  • Emergency Preparedness

Apprenticeship applicants must be at least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and physically able to do the work of the job with or without accommodations. Specialized experience required.

Massage Therapist

Duration: 1 – 2 years

Description
Massage therapists treat clients by using touch to manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients.
Minimum Requirements
Apprenticeship applicants must be at least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and physically able to stand for long periods of time and ability to touch and apply pressure, with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Able Seaman (Water Transportation)

Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association

Duration: 1 Year

Description
An Able Seaman perform various functions pertaining to operation and maintenance of the vessel. Responsible for performing general maintenance, repair, and sanitation duties, and standing watch to ensure the ship maintains a steady course.
Minimum Requirements
Apprenticeship applicants must be at least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent and/or currently enrolled in 12th grade, and physically capable of performing the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation, and without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of the individual or others

Pipefitter (Construction)

Duration: 4 Years

Description
A Pipefitter is responsible for assembling, installing, altering, and repairing pipelines or pipe systems that carry water, steam, air, or other liquids or gases. May install heating and cooling equipment and mechanical control systems. Includes sprinkler fitters.
Minimum Requirements
Apprenticeship applicants must be at least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and able to lift up to 50 pounds; stand and stretch for prolonged periods.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Restorative Care Specialty

Description
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and home care. Certified Nursing Assistants help patients with a wide range basic need, including eating bathing, grooming, mobility and more. Specialized training in restorative care.
Minimum Requirements
Apprenticeship applicants must be at least 18 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, and physically able to do the work of the job with or without accommodations. Health card, physical and drug screening, background check, TB and COVID vaccination required.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Dementia Specialty

Description
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and home care. Certified Nursing Assistants help patients with a wide range basic need, including eating bathing, grooming, mobility and more. Specialized training in Dementia.

Cook

US Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections

Duration: 1 Year


Description
Cook duties and responsibilities include food preparation techniques, follow chef instructions, store food supplies, clean, organize and maintain the kitchen, manage food leftovers, portion food items, and adhere to food hygiene standards.
Minimum Requirements
Apprenticeship program for inmates of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, high school diploma or active enrollment in a high school diploma program, physical and mental ability to perform all phases of work.

Marine Services Technician
